Jonathan Johnson is the CEO of Overstock, a leading online furniture and home furnishings retailer. Since assuming this role in 2019, Jonathan has positioned Overstock as more than just an e-commerce website – streamlining its widespread merchandising interests into a concentrated, focused strategy dedicated to providing dream homes for all. Jonathan is a member of Overstock's board of directors and has been an integral part of the company’s growth – from a start-up to publicly traded with over $2.5 billion in sales and nearly 1,200 employees. Jonathan joined Overstock in 2002 and has held various positions within the company, including chairman of the board, executive vice chairman, president, and general counsel. He is also a member of the board of directors of The J.M. Smucker Co. From 2016-2021, Jonathan served as president of Medici Ventures, a former Overstock subsidiary which invested in blockchain technology and fintech businesses. In early 2021, Overstock transferred Medici’s assets to a limited partnership venture fund run by Pelion Venture Partners.
A pioneer of the Utah technology scene, John Pestana has been an entrepreneur and innovator in the internet and Software as a Service industries for decades. While he was a student at Brigham Young University, John started JP Interactive a website development company building websites for local Utah companies as they made their first forays into the world wide web. This started him on his path to customer data tracking and analytics, co-founding SuperStats in 1997, which soon became a must-have for website managers around the world. SuperStats evolved into MyComputer.com, which was renamed Omniture in 2002. Over the next 7 years, Omniture not only grew to become a household name and foundational member within the pre-Silicon Slopes tech scene, but also rapidly gained global attention winning notable awards and recognition along the way. John’s nature to solve complex problems took him one step further into the website scene in 2010 when he co-founded ObservePoint where he is currently the CEO. ObservePoint is the trailblazing and industry-leading web governance solution which allows organizations to see and understand what is going on behind the scenes of their website. Among ObservePoint’s loyal customer base are some of the world’s largest companies, including: Google, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Comcast, Mastercard, Ford, United Healthcare, Mercedes-Benz, Capital One, AIG, Adobe, PepsiCo, and hundreds more. Of all of his accomplishments John is most proud to be the father of three wonderful children, and an incredible friend to all in his wide circle of acquaintances.
Come enjoy lunch & learn from great Silicon Slopes entrepreneurs.
